Counselling is one part of working with complex problems and life situations. A Clinical Psychologist has extensive training in the assessment and application of specific therapies, monitoring of progress and outcomes.
This may include workplace trauma such as that experienced by Police, Paramedics, Fire-Brigade, historical trauma from childhood, accidents and other assaults including domestic and family violence. Astrid has extensive experience in supporting and providing therapy for individuals presenting with these experiences.
Relationships don't need to be physically violent for them to be deemed abusive. The psychological damage that can happen in intimate partner relationships can occur quite slowly.
